Claimant Terms and Conditions

  1. You are activating a single Central Index Card Account annual license from Central Index Ltd of 16th Floor, 89 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TP
  2. You warrant that you are entering accurate information (for example, in product descriptions, special offer details, etc) so that customers are not misrepresented to in any way.
  3. From time to time, we may (but are not obliged to) promote your business by making available public information on any of our properties or partner properties. To facilitate this you allow Central Index a royalty free publishing license over the public elements of your data in order to facilitate promotion of your messages across the Central Index network. This may extend to websites, directories, email, SMS and other on and offline services designed to allow interested parties to view information.
  4. You are wholly responsible for the data entered into your Index Card and agree not to use the service in order to engage in any illegal or unlawful activities.
  5. We will securely store your customer contact details in the Central Index Card admin and will run regular backups of the information. However, we take no responsibility for data that is lost and it is your responsibility to keep backups of all key information that you enter into your Index Card.
  6. We provide our service with reasonable skill and care but you must check details of any information you publish before they go out to satisfy yourself as to its accuracy.
  7. We shall endeavour to ensure our online service is available and in the event of interruptions shall use all reasonable endeavours to expedite its resolution.
  8. If activating the Index Card with a verification fee, the licence fee includes full secure access to your Index Card, which includes maintenance, upgrades, and hosting.
  9. If at any time you are unhappy with the service or have a complaint, please speak to your service adviser in the first instance who shall do his/her best to help. If you are still not happy please email support@centralindex.com and any complaint will be dealt with as soon as possible.
  10. Central Index reserves the right to modify or revise these terms at any time. You should visit this website periodically to review the documents comprising the T&Cs and check for updates. Your continued use of the Central Index after the effective date of any such changes will constitute your acceptance of and agreement to such changes. If YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE BOUND TO ANY NEW TERMS, YOU MUST TERMINATE THE AGREEMENT BY CONTACTING US IMMEDIATELY VIA EMAIL AT support@centralindex.com
  11. You warrant that you have the authority necessary to enter into this agreement and agree that this agreement is under English law and jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  12. No responsibility can be taken by Central Index for any infringements arising from domain name registration, or domains upon which the Central Index data is displayed.
  13. All of your or your Client’s logos, artwork, graphics, photo’s etc remain the clients’ intellectual property
  14. Design and programming of all source codes, html, and graphics are the intellectual property of Central Index unless otherwise explicitly stated.
  15. Central Index has the right not to accept an update to an Index Card, even if the Index Card is live and payment has been taken.
  16. You agree that if you are NOT the authorised person, as in the business owner or their representative, and you enter information falsely into the Index Card of another business, then you accept full liability for any damages caused, including, without limitation, an administration fee of £10,000 which shall become immediately payable.
  17. PRIVACY We take the privacy of our clients very seriously, and warrant that we will not provide your private contact details to any third party without your permission (other than in the course of provision of service to you). However the public details entered into your Index Card will be made available to our partners as part of our service to you.

Reporter Terms and Conditions

If you are using the Central Index Service to tell us about incorrect or incomplete information on a Central Index Card, we will ask you to validate your identity using a social login such as Facebook or Google+. We ask for such validation to ensure that real people are behind these reports and to deter spammers and time wasters.

We will only use your social login to verify that you are a real person, and will NEVER:

  • post information on your social profiles without your permission
  • use your personal information to contact you without your permission
  • pass any of your social login information to third parties

Advertising Terms & Conditions

When buying our advertising products online:

  1. The duration of the contract can be monthly or yearly, and will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
  2. Advertising is paid for in advance for the duration of the contract.
  3. Advertising will be renewed automatically and can be cancelled at any time by logging onto the Central Index admin panel (http://admin.centralindex.com) and following the links to your payment provider in the user area.
  4. Advertising means Priority Positioning of your listing for searches of your selected keywords and locations (e.g. "plumber" in "Dublin") on the title or titles purchased (e.g. The Yorkshire Post or The Evening Standard), for the duration of the contract. The purchased titles will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
  5. It is your responsibility to define the searchable keywords and locations of your advert by logging onto the Central Index admin panel (http://admin.centralindex.com) and entering the correct keywords and locations in the advert configuration screen.
  6. Priority Positioning enables a paying advertiser’s listing to appear among the top of the search results on their selected business directory for their combined selection of keywords & locations. For example: If the listing for "Bob's Plumbers" has an advert for "plumber" in "Dublin" on www.yourlocal.ie, Priority Positioning means that the listing will appear on search results for "plumber in Dublin" on yourlocal.ie above any non-paying listings, but in amongst all other listings that have a paying advert for "plumber" in "Dublin". In order to ensure fairness, all the paying advertisers for "plumber" in "Dublin" will be rotated randomly within the list of advertisers that get displayed.
  7. Content for the advertiser’s listing will be taken from the Index Card and will be accepted ‘as provided’ by the Advertiser or their designated administrator. No responsibility can be taken for errors or omissions of content and the advertiser warrants that they have full authority to publish any content as submitted to the Index Card.

Syndication Terms & Conditions

When buying our syndication products online:

  1. The duration of the contract can be monthly or yearly, and will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
  2. Syndication is paid for in advance for the duration of the contract.
  3. Syndication will be renewed automatically and can be cancelled at any time by logging onto the Central Index admin panel (http://admin.centralindex.com) and following the links to your payment provider in the user area.
  4. In order to facilitate syndication, you provide an unlimited worldwide, royalty free license for the data within your Index Card to Central Index and, at Central Index option, any partner of Central Index for the purpose of syndication of the Index Card information.
  5. Index Card information to be inserted in accordance with Terms and Conditions of Centralindex.com and partners – specific terms available on each partner website.
  6. Content for the syndicated listing will be taken from the Index Card and will be accepted ‘as provided’ by the business owner or their designated administrator. No responsibility can be taken for errors or omissions of content and the advertiser warrants that they have full authority to publish any content as submitted to the Central Index.
  7. Ingestion and Indexing time of Index Card data varies by partner and no guarantees can be given as to the exact time of data being published by any given partner.
  8. Any Central Index network partner can refuse acceptance of insertions at any time and this will not invalidate the Syndication contract. Central Index reserves the right to change any network partner at any time.
  9. Not all Central Index partners will carry and publish all supplied elements of the syndicated data – data rendered is subject to user interface and design of specific partner user interface.
  10. At the end of the contract period, Central Index reserves the right to keep any elements of the listings live or to remove the listings unless provided with a renewed contract.
